Memorex MKS-SS2 SingStand

Sound quality

  • Phone/tablet holder
  • Durable and practical stand
  • Supports instruments while singing
  • Good choice for children

  • Only 5W speakers may not be enough for parties
  • Microphone has low sensitivity range
  • May not be the best choice for adults

The Memorex MKS-SS2 Singstand 2 is a all-in-one karaoke machine where you can set up your own playlists. It supports input from phones, tablets and mp3 players. The machine has an built-in audio balance through voice control managament that works automatically.

With the Memorex, you can stream music straight to it from most music devices. If you have it connected to your device, or read lyrics from your devices, the SingStand 2 has a very practical holder for your device at the top of the stand, so you don’t have to hold it yourself while you sing through the microphone.

If your musical interests go beyond singing, and you like to play guitar or keyboard, you can easily connect them and a variety of other instruments to your SingStand. Practice your instrument while singing karaoke. Or you can just connect another microphone and sing duets.

The automatic voice control dampens the vocal on the songs and adjusts the sound of your voice so you can hear yourself clearly singing the song. There are also some other effects such as adding echo to your voice, or just adjusting it dynamically.

The speakers at the base play loud and clear sound, and you can choose to only use them as speakers even if you don’t want to sing. Connect your favorite mp3 player, smartphone or tablet and play your music through the SingStand speakers.

  • Sturdy stand

Overall, this seems to be a decent system, but does not include any karaoke songs, and you have to connect it to any device that will show the lyrics. Basically it is a microphone and speaker system with some connections to other devices, and a built-in auotmatic voice control that dampens the songs and amplifies your voice so you become the lead singer. It has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 on Amazon (ratings as of 8 April 2016).
